Not just a conversation. A culture shift.
“In a relatively short period of time, A LONG TALK has become an important part of the Island school community, leading the way in bringing awareness and training in Anti-Racism-Anti-Oppression through their activation exercises and instructional programming. A LONG TALK has worked directly with school staff, students, administration, school committee members, and community leaders, all of which has been and will continue to be of great benefit to the children of MVPS.”

Superintendent, Martha’s Vineyard Public Schools
What We Do…
-
Our workshops and training sessions move beyond “awareness.” We help educators build shared language, model leadership, and hold one another accountable to the kind of culture they say they want to create.
-
We lead bold, age-appropriate sessions that help students unpack identity, bias, and community. Whether we’re in a fifth-grade classroom or a high school gym, we meet students where they are with real talk and practical tools they can use.
-
Our flagship program. A guided multimedia journey that includes two live sessions designed to activate honest reflection, collective learning, and lasting change.
-
The ALT Universe is digital home base for continued growth that offers live practice sessions, curated learning, and real-time support for school teams doing the work.
We Support the Moments That Matter
We often collaborate with schools during key times of year, including:
Professional Development Days
Black History Month
Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month
LGBTQ+ Pride Month
SEL or Equity Events
Whatever the moment, we help you go deeper than celebration to spark connection, courage, and community.
What We Help Schools Talk About
Political disagreement
Educational disparities
Gender identity, homophobia, and transphobia
Xenophobia, immigration, and religious bias
Ableism and mental health stigma
Anti-Racism vs Non-racism
Allyship, accountability, and action
Who We’ve Worked With
Real Tools. Not Just Talk.
Every A Long Talk session includes practice with the CPR Protocol— a tangible, repeatable framework that helps students and staff respond to ignorance, bias, or harm in real time.
From classrooms to staff rooms, CPR gives your school community the confidence to speak up, call others in, and keep the conversation going. This isn’t just theory. It’s a skill your people can use the next day and every day after that.
Co-designed to Fit
We don’t offer pre-packaged programs. Every A Long Talk experience is shaped by your school’s goals, your students, your timing, and your needs.
Whether you’re planning an annual event, responding to an incident, or building something brand new, we work with you to design something that fits.
